BostInno includes cannabis exec on '50 on Fire' list for 2019

September 24, 2019

BOSTON, September 24, 2019 - For the first time in BostInno's '50 on Fire' history,  a cannabis industry leader is included among the 50 final honorees. Cannabis business development executive Beth Waterfall, who also cofounded and serves as executive director for 501c3 nonprofit ELEVATE Northeast Events and Education, is one of only five honorees in the 2019 Community category, which honors investors, ecosystem supporters, mentors, non-profits and other innovators.

"Stigma wanes and opportunities blossom when advocacy for something that is at once both federally and unjustly illegal is recognized by mainstream media," said Waterfall. "I'm grateful to the team at BostInno and AmericanInno for recognizing cannabis as not only an economic engine for the Commonwealth, but as a rich source of opportunity for women, people of color, and others representing traditionally marginalized groups."

The 50 individuals and companies on the 2019 '50 on Fire' list will be celebrated at a special event on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Artists for Humanity in Boston. Learn more and register for the event at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bostinno-50-on-fire-tickets-56134909024
