Standing up for my Clients... and Myself

I stood up for my clients, the cannabis industry, and most importantly, myself today.

I've had a lot of fun and many enriching experiences speaking at cannabis-related events over the past five years. Generally my speeches, presentations and panels relate to marketing for cannabis businesses or, more often, the importance of doing well while doing good and my work with ELEVATE Northeast.

Today was different because I spoke up on behalf of myself as a woman who owns a business that is suffering during the COVID-19 crisis.

I had three minutes to deliver testimony regarding S. 2643, An Act establishing a Massachusetts Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) for businesses ineligible for the comparable federal PPP, to Massachusetts Senate Chair Diana DiZoglio and House Chair Edward F. Coppinge. My comments focused on my experience being denied PPP loan because I work with cannabis companies, and my plea to open comparable PPP funding to my clients and other small businesses like mine.

Click here or the image below to catch the full hearing, which features compelling testimony from Massachusetts cannabis business leaders like Meg Sanders, David O'Brien, Ellen Brown, Dr. Marion McNabb, and Angela Brown (I'm at 1:49:00).

And thank you for your support! We got this, fam.
